Biography

Alfons L. Krol, M.D., F.R.C.P.C., received his medical degree from the University of Alberta and trained in Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology at McGill University and the Montreal Children`s Hospital. From 1987 to 2002, Dr. Krol was the director of Pediatric Dermatology at the University of Alberta and the Stollery Children`s Hospital. He also served as the director of the Division of Dermatology at the University of Alberta from 1996-2002. In June of 2000, he was elected to the Board of Directors for the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and served as President of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology from 2008-2009. Dr. Krol has lectured internationally, published peer reviewed articles and textbook chapters, and directed national and international courses on pediatric dermatology.



In 2002, Dr. Krol joined OHSU to serve as director of Pediatric Dermatology at OHSU Doernbecher Children`s Hospital. He provides consultation and care for all aspects of pediatric skin disease with a special interest in hemangiomas and vascular anomalies, genetic disorders (particularly keratodermas), and atopic dermatitis.
